چکیده

We prove the existence of multiscale Young measures associated with almost periodic homogenization. We give applications of this tool in the homogenization of nonlinear partial differential equations with an almost periodic structure, such as scalar conservation laws, nonlinear transport equations, HamiltonJacobi equations and fully nonlinear elliptic equations. Motivated by the application to nonlinear transport equations, we also prove basic results on flows generated by Lipschitz almost periodic vector fields which are of interest in their own. In our analysis, an important role is played by the so called Bohr compactification G of R ; this is a natural parameter space for the Young measures. Our homogenization results provide also the asymptotic behaviour for the whole set of G -translates of the solutions, which is in the spirit of recent studies on the homogenization of stationary ergodic processes.

Multiscale Young Measures in Homogenization of Continuous Stationary Processes in Compact Spaces and Applications

We introduce a framework for the study of nonlinear homogenization problems in the setting of stationary continuous processes in compact spaces. The latter are functions f ◦ T : Rn × Q → Q with f ◦ T (x, ω) = f(T (x)ω) where Q is a compact (Hausdorff topological) space, f ∈ C(Q) and T (x) : Q → Q, x ∈ Rn, is an n-dimensional continuous dynamical system endowed with an invariant Radon probabilit...

Characterization of Two-scale Gradient Young Measures and Application to Homogenization

Young (or Parametrized) measures have been introduced in optimal control theory by L. C. Young [39] to study non convex variational problems for which there were no classical solution, and to provide an effective notion of generalized solution for problems in Calculus of Variations. Starting with the works of Tartar [35] on hyperbolic conservation laws, Young measures have been an important too...

Multiscale Homogenization of Convex Functionals with Discontinuous Coefficients

This article is devoted to obtain the Γ-limit, as ε tends to zero, of the family of functionals u 7→ ∫ Ω f ( x, x ε , . . . , x ε ,∇u(x) ) dx, where f = f(x, y, . . . , yn, z) is periodic in y, . . . , yn, convex in z and satisfies a very weak regularity assumption with respect to x, y, . . . , yn. We approach the problem using the multiscale Young measures.

A FEM Multiscale Homogenization Procedure using Nanoindentation for High Performance Concrete

This paper aims to develop a numerical multiscale homogenization method for prediction of elasto-viscoplastic properties of a high performance concrete (HPC). The homogenization procedure is separated into two-levels according to the microstructure of the HPC: the mortar or matrix level and the concrete level. The elasto-viscoplastic behavior of individual microstructural phases of the matrix a...
